Developing a knowledgeable, capable, productive workforce

Developing a knowledgeable, capable, productive workforce

According to the Washington Post, 34% of the current acquisition workforce has less than 5 years of experience. That is a significant increase over 10 years ago when only 6% were in that category. Workforce reductions and gaps in hiring during the 1990s―along with increased employee mobility―has left the government with comparatively low numbers of mid-level (or ‘journeyman’) acquisition professionals in the workforce today.

The workforce that remains—ranging from the more traditional Baby Boomers to high-tech, creative Millenials—demands a range of innovative approaches to learning. Learning must be value-added, of course, but today’s multi-generational workforce requires that it also be entertaining … and available in real-time, where possible. At the same time, innovative approaches must be cost-effective to meet the learning needs of the federal workforce in today’s budget-conscious environment. Ultimately, innovative approaches that are cost-effective and that maximize learning opportunities and the retention of knowledge are ideal.

ASI offers a suite of training solutions to meet today’s training needs. From traditional in-person classroom training to 24/7 online e-learning options and our Virtual Acquisition Office™ “continuous learning” suite, as well as custom development, we can create a workforce development solution that is right for the learning needs of your organization.
